Dreaming of a spring wedding filled with personality and charm?

Take a look at this real wedding we held here over a sunny Easter weekend.

PREPARATIONS

The bride chose to have preparations in a house they hired for the weekend. Couples often requiring more space, look at places nearby to us on Airbnb.

How lovely is the first look with the Bride and her dad!

TRAVEL IN STYLE

Silverline Limousines and Wedding Cars often get booked by our couples as they have a great range of transport options, along with having friendly and helpful drivers.

This 1920's Imperial wedding car provides vintage charm, and really makes the journey feel special.

THE I DO'S

Hannah & Mikey made it official in our Orchard ceremony room, standing in front of a rustic wooden hexagon arch with faux flowers that matched Hannah's bouquet.

We love how much laughter and happy tears there were during their ceremony.

The detailing on Hannah's dress with the print on Mikey's tie, really added elegant touches to their day.

SPECIAL MOMENTS

Hannah & Mikey got married over the Easter weekend, which meant they could take advantage of our unique location next to Applewood Countryside Park who were holding their annual Easter Spring Fling Event.

They got the unique experience of being transported in their wedding car and having photos in the daffodil patch and with our iconic apple logo.

They walked the grounds to capture moments of just the two of them, before heading back to join their guests in our enclosed garden on a warm spring afternoon.

Going into the evening, they did a signature cut and taste of their wedding cake made by a family member, and then had their first dance in front of white LED love letters and white blossom table trees provided by Sam Race Venue Decoration.

ENTERTAINMENT

They got the party started right after speeches with singer waiters booked as a surprise to the couple - the reactions are great!

They had our in-house DJ keeping people on the dancefloor right until the every end, and a retro photo pod to capture fun photos and instant prints of the guests.

Countryside, Conga & Pretty in Pink

Looking for timeless yet classic wedding inspiration with a splash of personality? Read about this beautiful wedding reception we held here at Applewood Hall in August.

PREPARATIONS

The bridal party kept it familiar and got ready at the bride's parent's house that wasn't far from the Church.

We always recommend staying close by to your ceremony venue as this can reduce the risk of any unnecessary stress you may come across when relying on travelling a distance.

Rebecca & Alex travelled in style to Applewood Hall in a vintage Rolls Royce wedding car.

CEREMONY

A church that is just 15 minutes away from Applewood Hall is St. Remigius Church in Diss. The beautiful stained glass window really gives the wow factor when couples stand in front of it to say their I Do's.

This part of a wedding day is the most intimate and important moment of the day, so when it comes to deciding whether you want a service in a house of god or a civil ceremony in a licensed room then it is a personal choice to you as a couple.

THE DETAILS

With an elegant vision in mind, Rebecca & Alex wanted their day to be light and bright for their Summer wedding.

Seamlessly tying everything in with pastel pinks throughout their personal details to the décor of the venue itself.

The cake was made by the mother of the bride and included perfectly matched sugar paste flowers to the bride's bouquet!

Following a styling session with Wedding and Events Manager Chloe, the couple chose textured napkins, rose gold beaded charger plates and chair drapes fastened with pearl brooches to really make their tables stand out, and by putting it together ahead of their special day, they could picture how it would all come together.

Stunning fresh florals were perfectly placed around our blank canvas hall, from tall centrepieces on the tables, to a hoop dressed behind the top table and podium sprays next to the table plan - the room looked stunning.

SPECIAL MOMENTS

Matt Brasnett from I Do Photography captured some great moments throughout this couple's wedding day.

From dreamy couple portraits framed by our countryside views to those wow-factor moments under clear blue skies, soft golden hour light, or fairy lights twinkling at dusk, Applewood Hall gives you a naturally romantic backdrop in every season.

For their first dance, Rebecca & Alex hit the floor in front of our LED Love letters. The warm glow and reflection on the dancefloor created a seriously picture-perfect scene, and it’s just one of the many little touches you can mix, match, or style your own way to personalise your Applewood Hall celebration.

The party even started early with a conga line that was taken all the way around our garden!

At Applewood Hall, glamping accommodation is available just next door, so even in the winter you can have a space close by to get ready ahead of your special day. Our Glamping Pods and Shepherd's Cabins are heated and offer a cosy retreat away for the quieter winter season.

We have festoon lighting and a fairy light gazebo in our garden which creates romantic lighting for those evening photos.

Being next door to a zoo, regardless of the season, the giraffes still need feeding...so why not have a wedding with a difference, and book an animal experience.

WARMTH WITH STYLE

Winter wedding fashion is all about depth, texture, and intentional layering. The season encourages sumptuous fabrics, sparkling details, and accessories that make a statement in photos and in person. When styled well, winter attire not only keeps the wedding party warm, but elevates the entire visual atmosphere of the day - it means you can be more playful with your attire!

Think long sleeved gowns, capes and faux furs. Boots for walking the grounds for photos, velvet blazers, wool waistcoats and cashmere scarves.

The brides chose to get ready at Breckland Lodge , a hotel that is just 10 minutes away from Applewood Hall .

A UNIQUE WAY TO TRAVEL

As a lorry driver herself, Lizzie was picked up by a close friend of hers and travelled to Applewood Hall in the cab of a lorry. A great example of a personalised touch to their day!

CEREMONY

It was a beautiful spring day as the couple exchanged vows in our landscaped garden, framed by the soft twinkle of our fairy-light gazebo.

Sammy and Lizzie made sure their dog was part of the big day too – he even dressed for the occasion!

THE DETAILS

With a beautifully nostalgic vintage theme, their day was styled in elegant shades of tan, nude and cream, complemented by gentle hints of dusky blue and pink.

Personal details made it uniquely theirs - pocket watches for the 'I Do' crew and delicate lace detailing on Sammy's nails, both perfectly reflecting their vintage vision.

SPECIAL MOMENTS

Taking advantage of Applewood Hall's unique location next to Banham Zoo , Sammy and Lizzie took a magical stroll to visit their wild neighbours - feeding the giraffes and greeting a few curious guests along the way.

A truly unforgettable experience that we can help couples arrange.

They walked the grounds to capture moments with just the two of them (+ baby bump!) and they stopped at our sign for a fun picture – our sister business Applewood Countryside Park offers camping & glamping should guests be looking for a place to stay with a difference.

ENTERTAINMENT

For their evening celebrations, they had a photobooth to get lots of fun shots of their guests throughout the night and the band The Do Ya Do’s to get the party started!

Choosing a wedding date in Autumn means you can embrace bold or burnt orange tones, mustard yellow, deep burgundy or olive green… a colour palette that matches the rich, earthy vibes the season has to offer -use nature as your inspiration!

With quirky additions that include, skulls and skeletons, banquet style tables and floating candles, iconic villains on biscuits, and axes used to cut the cake!

A MEMORABLE SEASON

Summer is often the most popular time of year to get married as many expect the weather to be better... However, being in England and through experience, there really is no guarantee with the weather at any time of year (We have held peak summer weddings where it has rained all day!)

You could find there is more availability for venues and suppliers when you look at an Autumn date, and you could be just as lucky if your day does bring sunshine (or at least have the rain hold off).

With ideal spots around Applewood Hall, you can take a stroll as newlyweds and find some perfect autumnal backdrops for your photographer to get your couple shots.

Don’t forget about golden hour and capturing that seasonal magic!

AUTUMNAL ATTIRE

With the bridal gowns often taking the spotlight, it’s a refreshing change when the cooler months creep in, as the style for the menswear does change… With velvet black blazers and floral ties, three-piece tweed and bowties, to deep burgundy brown suits with boots. We love to see it!

SOME FINAL POINTS

Keep it cosy. Have some blankets available for your guests, should the weather turn colder.
Folk or ceilidh band? We have seen these becoming popular for autumnal weddings.

Sundown on the Sunset Social at Applewood Hall

What an unforgettable evening! On Thursday, 12th June, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting The Sunset Social right here at Applewood Hall and what a night it was.

Hosted at one of South Norfolk’s best-kept secrets, our trio of event spaces; the Hall, Orchard Room and Garden set the perfect stage for an event that was anything but your typical summer garden party. From 4pm to 8pm, over 110 guests from across the region’s thriving business community came together to enjoy an afternoon of relaxed networking, vibrant entertainment, and the warmest of atmospheres.

As the sun dipped, the garden buzzed with conversation and laughter. Casino tables brought out a spark of friendly competition, lawn games added a touch of whimsy, and guests connected over delicious canapés and summer-inspired drinks. It was a joy to see so many spontaneous moments of connection blossom just as the garden itself was in full bloom.

We were delighted to partner with Naked Marketing and SLM Group to bring this unique event to life and support an experience that felt as relaxed and welcoming as it did memorable. Seeing our space filled with energy, joy, and new connections is exactly why we do what we do.

To everyone who joined us, a big thank you. You brought the spirit that made the evening shine, and we’re so proud to have been part of it.

We’re already looking ahead with excitement as talk turns to The Santa Social this winter. If The Sunset Social was anything to go by, we promise you something equally magical, festive, and full of heart.
